In celebration of World PR Day 2025, Drawbridge Communication Management Limited (Drawbridge CM), a leading Public Relations and Communications Management consultancy in Nigeria has donated a curated selection of professional literature authored by Nigerian Public Relations practitioners to communication faculties and departments in four universities across the country.

Receiving the donating of one of the sets of books to the Faculty of Communication, Bayero University Kano on Monday, the Dean, Prof. Umar Faruk Jibril, said, “On behalf of the Faculty of Communication, I sincerely appreciate the donation of 11 Public Relations Books by Hassan Abdul, the CEO and founder of Drawbridge to the faculty in commemoration of World Public Relations Day. This thoughtful gesture not only celebrates the significance of Public Relations in shaping responsible communication but also contributes meaningfully to the academic growth of our students. We are grateful for your continued support and commitment to advancing media and communication education in the country.”

The donation is part of Drawbridge CM’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of public relations professionals by providing access to relevant learning materials that combine both academic rigor and relevant practical insights sourced from the Nigerian operating environment.

Speaking on this, Hassan Abdul, said, “This initiative reflects our deep belief in the transformative power of knowledge and mentorship. Public Relations shapes perception, builds trust, drives change and bequeaths influence; none of which is possible without well-equipped professionals. By investing in future communicators today, we are shaping the Public Relations and Communication Management landscape of tomorrow.”

The donated books include contemporary titles such as AI-Powered PR by Celestine Achi, Media Relations Playbook by Chidu Nwakanma, and The Science of Public Relations by Philip Odiakose. These texts offer a blend of theoretical grounding and practical case studies, serving as essential tools for students and aspiring practitioners alike.

A similar donation was also made to the University of Abuja alongside a World Public Relations Day lecture organised by the Faculty /of Communication for students of Public Relations with Mr. Abdul as the guest speaker.

“Public Relations plays a critical role in governance, peace building, and community development across the globe and this year’s World PR Day theme, ‘Building Bridges and Navigating Polarization’, is timely, reminding us of our shared humanity in an increasingly divided world,” the Dean of the Faculty of Communication of University of Abuja Prof. Abdullahi Bashir said during the donation.

Beyond the book donations, Drawbridge CM is amplifying the initiative through its online community, the CommZ Facebook group. This platform will serve as a hub for knowledge-sharing, offering mentorship programmes that connect students and young professionals with experienced Public Relations experts, access to exclusive content and webinars featuring industry insights and trends, and networking opportunities designed to foster relationships among peers and seasoned professionals. It will also open up access to internships, entry-level roles, and collaborative projects to give young talents hands-on experience.

According to Abdul, who is also the General Secretary of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), this holistic approach underscores the firm’s dedication to advancing the profession by investing directly in its human capital.
“At Drawbridge CM, we believe that empowering young professionals with both knowledge and community is the most sustainable way to advance the industry. Our goal is to foster a generation of skilled, ethical, and innovative communicators, here in Nigeria and across the globe.”
